A Daily Practise of Gratitude Exercise |
Have you ever taken a moment to consider how many things in your life you are truly grateful for? Often, we get so caught up in our day-to-day tasks and overarching goals that we forget to appreciate the good things that happen to us. This could be as simple as a stranger offering a warm smile on a cold day or as significant as a loved one’s recovery from an illness. With the life often getting in the way, it is easy to overlook these small blessings that can make our lives meaningful.
Girl, one way to make sure that we don’t lose sight of these blessings is to practice gratitude daily. A simple positive mental exercise to help you develop this habit is the “Gratitude Hand”. Which you can download for free on our Pinterest here. Think of it like this, each day, you use the fingers of your hand to think of five people, places, or things you are grateful for in your life. This practice not only helps to develop a positive mindset, but it also trains your mind to focus on the good, even when things seem really crappy.

Let’s dive into doing this together Queen. Here is how you can do it physically:
Step 1:
Find a quiet and comfortable space where you can sit and think without any distractions. Once you have found your space, sit down, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths. This will help to clear your mind and prepare it for the exercise. Breathe in for 3 seconds and breathe out for 3 seconds. Repeat this 3 times!
Step 2:
Open your eyes, and on a piece of paper, write down the date at the top. This will serve as a diary of your daily gratitude journey.
Step 3:
Begin with your thumb. Think of one person, place, or thing that you are grateful for and write it down next to the number one.
Step 4:
Move on to your index finger (the finger next to your thumb). Again, think of one person, place, or thing that you are grateful for and write it down next to the number two. Continue this process until you have written something next to each number.
Step 5:
Once you have written down five things you are grateful for, take a moment to reflect on each one. Think about why you are grateful for them and how they add value to your life/how they have helped you.
Practicing gratitude in this way can help to improve your overall well-being and happiness. By focusing on the positive aspects of your life, you can start to create a mindset of abundance and positivity. Start your “Gratitude Hand” practice today and see the transformation in your outlook on life.
